Dr. Mike Shirtcliff, DMD

Michael Shirtcliff DMD, Chairman of the Management Committee, President.  Dr. Mike Shirtcliff grew up in a small town in Douglas County, Oregon, and after graduating from Myrtle Creek High School, went to Oregon State University and received a bachelor of science in 1966.  Dr. Shirtcliff graduated from the University of Oregon Dental School in 1969 and entered the Army as a dentist, serving for three years. 

Dr. Shirtcliff opened a dental practice in Myrtle Creek in 1972 and provided care for a rural population for almost 20 years.  In 1993, he was a founding member of Advantage Dental community of companies and served as its Dental Director for 22 years and as CEO / President for over 17 years.  Dr. Shirtcliff worked closely with Governor John Kitzhaber in transitioning the Oregon Health Plan into its current system of Coordinated Care Organizations and the respective networks of dentists that serve these patients.  Dr. Shirtcliff was also primarily responsible for silver diamine fluoride (Advantage Arrest) obtaining its FDA clearance while acting as CEO of Advantage Dental. ​
